We are glad to post this prayer of a mother of seven in preparation for her own death. Mariyama Moozhiyil, a member of the Kottayam Diocese, is encountering her eschatological fears by focusing on the power of the love of Jesus. Mariyamma's exemplified the definition of prayer as an intimate conversation with God. The source of the prayer text remains unknown. The vocabulary is in contemporary Malayalam. Interestingly, Mairyamma, an ordinary housewife, expounds the correct catechism on the beatific vision which is the ultimate goal of human life. We are grateful to Sr. Johnia, SVM, granddaughter of Mariamma, for videotaping the prayer and for granting us permission to post it on our Channel.
